Dealership Marketing Director  

We are a single point auto dealership located in a great community. Our county population is under 100,000 but we have a dynamic team in our sales, service and parts departments.

We are looking to hire a creative Marketing Director who knows the retail side of the auto industry inside and out. They will work with top level management and create programs, promotions, and strategies that encompass both digital and traditional marketing channels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop short and long-term strategic marketing plans and budget to implement these plans
  • Improve the dealership visibility online and on social media channels
  • Align annual marketing plan with the dealership sales goals
  • Vet third-party vendors and providers to see if their services are a good fit for the dealership
  • Take charge of projects and initiatives related to communication of the brand, internally and externally
  • Support our executive team in the day to day management of external parties related to marketing initiatives
  • Develop awesome promotions to bring various market segments into the dealership and put us on the shopper’s consideration list.
    –   Target  female buyers- covering young women, Moms, and businesswomen
    –   Seniors and those who served in the Military
  • Build relationships with community groups and influencers within our market
  • Create promotions that tie into special events and provide unique customer experiences in the showroom
  • Develop regular programs to boost employee morale and help bolster a positive work experience
  • Assist when needed to plan and execute dealership special events, off-site meetings, and/or company retreats
  • Develop and/or identify ways to validate the customer experiences at our location(s) so we stand out from the competition


  • 5 + years of direct auto retail and leasing experience
  • 9 + years of automotive marketing covering leasing, finance and general knowledge of regulations related to the marketing of auto products and services
  • 5 + years of writing experience for trade publications and web content
  • 5+ years of graphics and/or website design
  • 4+ years of event planning and implementation
  • 9+ years of working with executive management teams
  • It would be a plus if the candidate has 3+ years of presenting or moderating panels at industry conferences
  • Strong team player and leader
  • Ability to multi-task and operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills


  • Bachelor’s Degree

Skills Required

  • Business and web writing experience
  • Experience with WordPress Content Management Software
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe programs including Photoshop, Fireworks, & Dreamweaver
  • Advanced skills in Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of MailChimp, Constant Contact and/or similar programs
  • Able to create Landing Pages and Microsites
  • Auto sales and/or management experience is a plus

Job Type: Part-time (approx. 20 hours a month)

Salary: $13,800 /year
